Milo Cress
Be Straw Free

Ever wondered how many straws americans throw away every day? Well, not only did Milo Cress wonder about that number (a whopping 500 million everyday), he decided to do something about it! At the age of NINE, vermonter Milo started an anti-straw campaign called BE STRAW FREE

He’s been in USA Today, on local news, NECN, Boston.com just to name a few. Google him and you’ll find plenty of links!

Ryan Hawks
Flyin Ryan Hawks Foundation
Ryan Hawks was an amazing guy – taken from us way too early. Full of passion for skiing and the mountains, he was a founding member of the Green Mountain Freeride Team and was known as “flyin ryan”. After his death, family found a list of his 13 core principles on his laptop. we should all live by these principles.

In April 2011, the Flyin Ryan Hawks Foundation was founded with a goal of “awarding scholarships based on financial need, character which reflects Ryan’s principals of living, and demonstrated passion and ability to pursue your adventure of choice.”

our favorite things about this foundation?

  • you can become an ambassador for $10 per year. we think every kid with a passion for adventure should be one!
  • their mission statement: “To INSPIRE young people to live every day, all day and never stop exploring life. To EXPOSE them to the world of outdoor adventure and to TEACH Ryan’s principles of living and core values.

Kevin Pearce

In 2009, this snowboarding Olympic hopeful crashed, hit his head causing a serious traumatic brain injury, while practicing some sick tricks on the halfpipe. He suffered from memory loss, blurry vision and balance issues making walking difficult to do. His long list of accomplishments is just amazing: US Grand Prix Slopestyle winner, podium finishes in lots of competitions around the world (this list is long – you can check it out on his website), nominations, awards, magazine covers, umteen articles, tv interviews etc. Unbelievable, determined, incredible are just some of the words that come to mind when you think of this young man.

On December 14th, 2011 Kevin got back on a snowboard – Watch here (get your kleenex, you’re going to need it!). Kevin is one amazing, inspiring, incredible young man! Congratulations Kevin – you rock!
